The Knot in the Verse
Avon is a cosmopolitan metropolis on the northern coast of Berisole, north of The Lavascape. It’s famous for its grand theatre, clothiers, and Church of Aesthetics. The Stratford lazily cuts through town, with ornate wooden and marble footbridges up and down its length. Spider Silk from Megalopirifom often makes its way to Avon, where the tailors and costumers of the city transform it into the latest fashions of the west. The Lavascape is many miles to the south, a shimmering haze in the distance, but it left one mark upon the city: a river of magma working its way through the city and into the ocean. It leaves an ever expanding jetty into the ocean, along with a wake of destruction. Avon’s church collapsed into the lava on the east side, leaving it forever half open to the elements. Countless houses and business also fell victim to Avon’s second river. Although several measures were initially suggested by major magicians and architects, the actors and poets of the city appreciated the dichotomy between the two rivers and demanded it be left as is. A series of footbridges of magic-bound granite cross the lava river, dubbed The Heloxion after the city’s patron.
