The Knot in the Verse
The Wild Ones
(Dragonborn, Eladrin, Genasi) Some races are more equipped to deal with the excess arcane power of Berisole than others. The Eladrin, who channel untapped arcane power, The Genasi, creatures of wild elemental forces, and the Dragonborn, who can use the raging dragon magic. Berisole is bleeding with all of their power, and some are more willing to take advantage of it than others. The Wild Ones are as far from an actual society as possible. There is no leadership, no society houses, no shared history, no shared philosophy save this: power is there, and it belongs to those willing to grasp it. The Wild Ones teach willing dragonborn, high elves, and genasi a ritual for opening themselves up to the flow of energy through the world. From then on their arcane power becomes ever more potent, and they leak spare energy, appearing as bright trickles of energy from their fingers and eyes. As they grow stronger the effect intensifies, until they practically become fountains of energy even the noninitiated can take advantage of, with arcane energy pouring from their hands, hair, mouths, and even in their footsteps. Other races display a great mistrust of The Wild Ones, and consider them dangerous and out of control. Others applaud their dedication to freedom and emulate their devil-may-care attitude.
